The idea behind the Tree & Root Lamp is to make us aware of the fact that we are cutting down way too many trees.  When positioned upside down, the lamp is unlit, symbolizing a dead root.  However, when inverted and positioned upright, the lamp lights up the room, showing us the beauty behind trees and how important they are in their lives.
